Dow Corning introduces Global Antifoam Selection Guide
MIDLAND, MICH., USA: Dow Corning Corporation has developed a new Global Antifoam Selection Guide
emphasizing the options and expertise in Dow Corning® brand
silicone antifoams. This resource is intended to help customers choose the
right antifoams for their applications and provide advice regarding the use of
antifoams.
In industrial processes ranging from metalworking to wastewater treatment
and from petrochemicals to textiles, Dow Corning silicone antifoams
are used to prevent or control the development of foam.
Antifoams can be used as process aids to improve safety and throughput and
as formulation aids to give benefits to the final product used by
consumers.
Many Dow Corning customers choose silicone antifoams because they are
effective at much lower dosage rates than organics, leading to significantly
lower cost-in-use; tend to be longer lasting than organic antifoams; and tend
to be less reactive in the foaming medium, leading to fewer compatibility
problems.
